Welcome to Rainbows!

You can become a Rainbow if you are between 5 and 7 years old.

Each unit is small to allow each girl to develop as an individual, but still feel part of a group.

Often you will have Young Leaders from the Senior Section helping at meetings as well.

Rainbows have fun and like to get messy, the programme they work on is called the Rainbow Jigsaw; it is a very special programme for Rainbows and there are four area for the girls to explore.

Rainbows Learn: Encourages learning through fun activities

Rainbows Laugh: This section teaches the girls games and songs and shows them how to enjoy parties and celebrations

Rainbows Look: This helps the Rainbows take a look at the wider world around them, and discover new countries and cultures.

Rainbows Love: This area gives Rainbows a better understanding of love and helping others. In particular it promotes further knowledge of the promise.

The Rainbow Jigsaw allows the girls to develop and grow whilst having fun at the same time.

Uniform:
The Rainbow uniform is colourful, fun and overall practical. You can mix and match and wear different uniform combinations depending on what activity you will be doing. Your Rainbow Leader will let you know if you have to wear specific clothes if you are doing a special activity.
You can wear a combination of the following:

Polo shirt
Zipped Sweatshirt
Tabard
Trousers
Shorts

Uniform is available from your Rainbow Leader or from Guiding Essentials; the online shop.

Rainbows don't work on as many badges as the Brownies or Guides, but their Promise badge (green trefoil) is pinned on their right, above the Rainbow logo and their unit name is often sewn on the right shoulder.

Roundabout and other badges are worn at the bottom of their Rainbow tops or on the pocked of their tabard.
